Meeting with a group of pastors in town tomorrow (Friday) to introduce them to the idea of Bi-vocational Pastoring through Micro-enterprise. This will be a very new concept to most African Pastors however, if motivated to proceed with the 8 weeks of training they will learn how to support themselves and their families without looking for outside assistance. Pray that the idea is received well!

ReplyDeleteThe concept was received very well. All of the pastors that attended the meeting will be attending the trainings that begin on Saturday April 14th. The Bi-vocational idea is going to take some time for them to understand. The pressure here in Africa is that if you are a pastor then you need to be a full time pastor, even if it means that you have to starve. Bi-vocational Pastoring goes back to the beginning of the church. Once they grasp the concept then they will have to educate their congregation. I am using the apostle Paul as the model and someone that they can use to educate their congregation and a model for themselves. Pray that it all goes well!
